Doomed From The Start

He requested a B&W commission of Overlord Priere (from the Disgaea video game series) dressed as Sister Prier (her former self from the video game La Pucelle: Tactics).

I thought it was a funny idea, and as any long-time watchers of mine know, I'm a big Prier fan, so it was awesome to do this and revisit a classic character, from an underrated and overlooked game.

I called this "doomed from the start" sort of as a private joke. It's my reference to the fact Prier's outfit design, regardless of which game you're referring to, is quite revealing and how not much changed from one game to the other despite the personal character changes. It seems that the folks at Nippon Ichi Software (the game developers) thought they had a good thing going and wanted to double up on the design for both releases. Unfortunately, Prier got the short end of the stick both times and ended up being typecast as a "service" or "ecchi" character design.

Personally, I think she would have looked more beautiful if she was more modestly dressed. A wider audience might have been more interested in her. The outfit design is pretty detailed and unique, but it leaves nothing to the imagination. A shame considering how good the character and game was, in my opinion.
